Who are our members?

Our members are people who desire to become involved in public activities with others who share their views, helping to pursue the organisation’s goals, finding new friends, and spending free time in a useful way.

We don’t think that you’re bored, but perhaps you’ve recently:

• Felt a desire to become involved in the activities of the LGBT community and promote improvements in the situation of LGBT people in Latvia;
• Wanted to meet and get to know interesting people with whom you can spend your free time in a useful way;
• Felt that the mission and goals of the organisation have encouraged you to prove yourself by implementing a specific idea which relates to LGBT issues;
• Wanted to support your LGBT friends not just in words, but also in deeds;
• Discovered a desire to make changes in your life – gain new impressions, be publicly active, enhance your professional skills, find others who share your views, etc.;
• Wanted to receive timely information about LGBT issues in Latvia and abroad.

Well, in that case we’d love to have you join “Mozaīka”.  We’ll be thankful if you will help us to represent your interests and/or those of your friends and to achieve the goals that we have set by being an active member in our group.

Members enjoy the following advantages:

• Access to timely information about LGBT issues in Latvia and abroad;
• The ability to take part in regional, national and international events and to represent the organisation there;
• A choice of various projects in which you can become involved;
• Evaluations of your activities and participation in the organisation;
• Discounts that are available to all members;
• New contacts that might be of use in your career;
• Participation in various youth projects offered by the European Union’s YOUTH programme (for members aged 25 to 30);
• Consultations on issues concerning the rights of LGBT people;
• The ability to discuss various subjects in the Website section that is meant for members;
• The ability to offer suggestions about how the organisation can achieve its goals, which will help to make you feel closer to “Mozaīka”.

Are you ready to join up?  Well, here’s what you need to do:

• Read our statutes;
• Fill in an application form and submit it via the Website;
• Upon board approval (usually within two weeks’ time), pay your membership fee for the first six months – Ls 12 (Ls 6 for full time students, retired persons, poor people, unemployed people and differently abled people).
